L.A. Care Health Plan
Graphic Design (2012-2013)
My journey at L.A. Care Health Plan began as a Graphics Designer in 2012. My work focused on visually communicating health information to internal and external users as clearly as possible through web, video, graphics and email. We took into consideration our different audiences, designed in different languages, and collaborated to create informative and efficient user experiences.
Affordable Care Act
This was a pivotal time in healthcare, because the Affordable Care Act was being implemented and L.A. Care was in the middle of developing their first consumer-facing product, which became to be known as L.A. Care Covered. I worked with the sales, marketing and communications teams to create a visual identity that looked distinct but still looked like it was an L.A. Care product. We put together a cohesively branded welcome package that included a video that welcomed our members in all our treshold languages while maintaining the look and feel of the L.A. Care brand.
Video Production (2013-2015)
As the need for clear health communications grew, we saw an opportunity in the video medium for our audiences. In this role, I conceptualized, scripted, produced, directed and edited over 20 videos and motion graphics for internal and external audiences. One of the videos I created received an honorable mention for Best Internal Communications Video in Ragan’s PR Daily Awards.
Additionally, I continued working with the web and design teams to iterate on digital communications concepts, including wireframes, infographics, and iconography. As I worked with these different types of files, I gained a deep understanding of file handling and digital content creation across web, mobile and print.
For these projects, I utilized the Adobe Create Suite to produce content and collateral for members, employees, physicians and stakeholders.
